Not a machine: a replacement filter cartridge, useful only if you already own an AC400 — and 60 per cent dearer in Spain than in Germany.

An inner filter for the Record Power AC400 two-stage air filter, barcode 5055151153322. There is no part number, no feature list, no filtration rating and no dimension on the listing. It is a consumable for one specific machine.
A saw makes chips you can see and sweep up. A sander makes particles fine enough to hang in the air for hours after the machine is switched off, and those are the ones that reach the deep lung. Hardwood dust is classified as a carcinogen in the European Union, which is why every machine in this class has an extraction port and why connecting it is not an optional refinement.
The port is half the answer. Extraction at the tool catches most of the dust and never all of it, so a mask while you work — and, in a small closed shop, something moving the air afterwards — is the other half.
An ambient air filter is the part of that argument that works after the machine is off. Extraction at the tool catches the coarse waste; the fine fraction that escapes stays suspended long after the last cut, which is why a filter unit is usually left running for an hour once the shop is quiet and why its filters clog in the first place.
The AC400 uses an outer pre-filter and this inner cartridge behind it. The pre-filter is washable and catches the coarse dust; the inner one catches what gets through and is the part that eventually has to be bought. If you are replacing this cartridge often, the answer is almost always that the pre-filter is not being cleaned.
€39 in Germany, €42 in France, €60 in Italy, €63 in Spain. Same reference, same barcode. For a consumable that is a striking spread — a Spanish owner pays over half as much again as a German one every time the filter is changed, which over the life of the machine adds up to more than the difference on many of the machines in this lot. The British store carried no price when we checked, and it is not sold on amazon.com.

When airflow drops and cleaning no longer restores it. A two-stage unit uses an outer pre-filter to catch the coarse material and protect the inner cartridge, and how long the inner one lasts depends entirely on whether the outer one is being cleaned. Keeping up with the pre-filter is the cheapest way to make this part last.
Because it is the whole product. An air filter is defined by the particle size it captures and the proportion it captures at that size, and this listing publishes neither. For a replacement part in a known machine that is survivable; as a specification it is empty.
